Library

Welcome to our Library!

The MRHS - Griffith Library offers a welcoming, versatile learning space. Located on the top level of C Block, it provides resources, services and study spaces to meet the learning, curriculum and teaching needs of our students and staff.

Our library collection is extensive, including both fiction and nonfiction. Many of our students are keen readers, and we aim to include a wide variety of resources to meet their needs and encourage all to experience the joy (and value) of reading. Students are welcome to suggest items to purchase, and over the years, many popular titles have been put forward. We add to our collection throughout the year.

Our school library is open in the morning from 8:30 am and during recess and lunch breaks.

Accelerated reader

Accelerated Reader is a reading program that helps teachers and librarians manage and monitor children's independent reading practice. All Year 7 students are involved in this program.

Accelerated Reader is a fantastic tool that sparks students' interests and encourages a love of reading. It expands horizons and gives educators data and information that provides better insight into student reading progress.

Library activities

Our library provides more than resources to promote academic learning and recreational reading. We have a range of mindfulness activities, including colouring in, find-a-words, sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and many games for students to enjoy.
