At Murrumbidgee Regional High School, we aim to help students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to make well-informed career decisions and self-manage their career pathways.
The Careers Adviser's role includes:
- Providing Career Education programs, including timetabled Careers lessons for Years 10 and 12
- Supporting and providing Enterprise Learning activities, such as Australian Business Week
- Providing workplace learning experiences such as Year 10 Work Experience and Industry visits
- Taking students to Tertiary Experience days, for example, University of Wollongong Experience Day, La Trobe Open Day, TAFE Open Day and Taste of TAFE day
- Display and distribute of documents, booklets and publications from universities, private colleges and TAFE
- Keeping students and parents informed of current information regarding careers, applications, scholarships, traineeships, cadetships etc via newsletters, daily notices and the Careers pages on this website
- Individual assistance with applications, resumes, subject selection etc
- Individual interviews to discuss career plans, pathway options and achieving goals.
