Griffith is raising the next generation of touch football superstars, with four MRHS – Griffith girls and three MRHS – Wade girls representing the Riverina at the CHS Touch State Finals this week.
The girls played 11 games in 2 days. Riverina made the grand final after winning against Hunter but were ultimately beaten by Sydney North 5-0. Considering Sydney North draws from some of the strongest sports high schools in the state, this was an extremely impressive feat.
On the team were Sophie Webb, Armahni Cook, Havana Cook and Georgia Matthews from MRHS – Griffith and Ellie Matthews, Tess Jamieson and Millie Atkin from MRHS – Wade.
Well done to our students for their stellar performance. A special commendation goes out to Havana Cook who played so well that she will now move on to compete on the NSW State Touch team at the Redland Showgrounds in Queensland.
