Click go the shears! Our students rolled up their sleeves to help with the spring shearing this month.
Together with the help of Mr Duncan, students Jacinta Billing, Erica Rebetzke, Kate Jackson and Year 11 Primary Industries helped to take the winter coats off the 15 school ewes. The sheep certainly didn’t go down without a fight but they were ultimately no match for our shearers’ grit and determination.
Based on the data collected last year, the senior Agriculture students offered recommendations to change the amount and variety of feed to improve the flock’s overall wool production. Their advice paid off, with our 2024 yield up by 20%.
The school would like to thank Mr Mark Duncan from Dial a Dunc for his heroic efforts shearing our sheep.
