Michelle Leonard OAM taught a select number of lucky students about music and her Moorambilla Voices program last Friday.
Moorambilla Voices works with youth from across regional New South Wales to build a choir. The choir draw inspiration from the regions of New South Wales and those who inhabit it.
Ms Leonard walked the Years 7 - 10 students through vocal warms ups, games, body percussion and call and response to help build their musical skills. At the end of the session, Ms Leonard auditioned students interested in joining the Moorambilla choir.
“Mooorambilla Voices is an outstanding program that brings opportunities to kids that otherwise wouldn’t have them,” explains teacher Aaron Grugan, “Not only do they develop their performance skills, they get to work with international creative and performing artists who are at the very top of their game.”
The students selected to join Moorambilla Voices will leave for their first camp in Barradine for 4 days in August. Thanks for visiting, Michelle!
