Welcome back to all our students for 2025!
As we commence the second year of our demerger, our school is clearly starting to find its footing. We’ve already welcomed a huge Year 7 cohort of 136 and a healthy number of new enrolments across other years.
Under the Department of Education’s guidance, we will be rebranding our school in 2025 and will be working in close consultation with our students, staff and P&C. If you would like to be a part of that process, I would highly recommend attending our P&C meetings on the third Tuesday of every month.
The vision for 2025 is to run these four essential values into our students:
- Follow instructions
- Be on time
- Communicate respectfully
- Be prepared to participate
These simple rules, I believe, will set our students up for success not only in the classroom, but on the sports field, in the workplace, at home and in life.
This year, we will also be introducing an in-class seating plan for students in Years 7 and 10. We hope to improve productivity and build a sense of community and respect in the classroom with this new policy.
Mobile devices including headphones and other Bluetooth devices are still banned at the school grounds under the direction of the Department of Education. This ban extends to before and after school. If a student is spotted with a device they will be asked to take it to the office where it will be locked in the office until the end of the day.
Protective, lockable pouches for phones are available to students if they so wish. We kindly ask that parents work in co-operation with us to ensure that we abide by this state-wide ban on mobile devices.
I look forward to another year of providing our wonderful students with opportunities in STEM, visual and performing arts, HSIE, English and in sport in 2025.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of our school or your child’s education, please don’t hesitate to contact me. My door is always open.
