Griffith Sends Two Teams To Girls Rugby Gala Day

Girls Rugby

Two of our girls rugby league teams fought hard against some of the region’s best in Wagga on Wednesday.

Our under 14s kicked off the day with a neck and neck draw against Kildare Catholic College (14 – 14) before going down to Temora High (16 – 6). The girls then redeemed themselves with an 18 -8 win against Tumbarumba.

Meanwhile, across the grounds, our under 16s girls kicked off the day with a big win against West Wyalong (20 – 4). The team then moved onto another win against Kildare Catholic College (18-8) before ultimately losing to Sacred Heart Central School from Cootamundra (20 – 12).

Armanhi Cook was outstanding on the under 14s team as always and Alivina Nayacakalou made some big hits. Meanwhile, Addison Vidler made some great tackles for the girls under 16s and Havana Cook once again showed her uncanny ability to be everywhere she was needed. Sophie Webb was also a standout on her rugby league debut.

The team, unfortunately, will not progress to the next round. Well done on your efforts and a huge thank you to Enoka Tia, Richard Wiseman and Ken Townsing for their help on the day.
