MRHS – Griffith student Kaedence will be enjoying the opportunity of a lifetime this year. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Griffith Avanti, she will be studying abroad in tropical Brazil!
Over 2025, Kaedence will be living with several Brazilian host families. She will partake in schooling in Brazil and help out Brazilian Rotary with their various events. She also hopes to take in some of the sights, sounds and beaches that the tropical nation has to offer.
“The first thing on my list is to go to a Brazilian rodeo, because Brazil has the best bull riders in the world,” explains Kaedence, “I would also like to go to the Formula One track in Sao Paolo which is a couple of hours away from where I’m staying.
“I can’t wait to go to the Amazon on the northeast coast and Carnivale,” she adds, “and I’d also really like to see a toucan and a capybara.”
Miss Pattison was afforded this opportunity through the Rotary Youth Exchange, which inspires young leaders to serve as catalysts for peace and social justice in their local communites and throughout the world. She was aided throughout the application process by science teacher and Rotary member Dylan Harmer.
