Last week our under 15s boys rugby league team showed some raw talent on the field at the Country Cup on Jubilee Oval Griffith.
The first game of the day was played against an extremely well-disciplined Yanco Ag. The team suffered a narrow defeat of 8 – 4. The second match against Marian was an easy win for Griffith however, with a 26 – nil victory and a lot of our boys on the bench getting a run.
Age old rivals Wade served Griffith another narrow 8 – 4 defeat. The boys finally pulled together and played their best match of the day against Narrandera winning by an impressive 30 – nil.
Lucas Donovan ran the ball hard all day and Toby Rand was strong up the front. Jarvaris Tuialii also proved his versatility throughout the day, playing a strong game both in attack and defence.
“Because these boys play across different clubs and codes they need a bit of time to gel as a team,” explains Principal Duncan Lovelock, “They really showed what they are capable of in the final game of the match. I see some exciting times ahead for these players.”
