Year 11 Advanced Maths collected data from the world around them for their assessment on further functions.
The aspiring mathematicians measured the way that water arcs into a parabola, measured the velocity of a ball bearing launched from ramps of different heights and used billiard balls to observe angles of incidence and reflection.
After 2 hours of experimentation, the students will now need to analyse their results and draw conclusions from their calculations. Their work will need to be submitted as a report.
The class will move on to studying differentiation after they’ve submitted their assignments.
