Nicole Taylor Made NSW Captain at the School Sports Games

Nicole Taylor

Year 12 swimming superstar Nicole Taylor has wrapped up her high school swimming career in style, swimming in both the All Schools Championship and the Australian Championship and pulling some jaw dropping results.

For the sixth year in a row, Nicole Taylor represented Riverina at the NSW All School Swimming Carnival in May at Sydney Olympic Park. Not only did she manage to make 4th in 100m freestyle, 2nd in 50m backstroke, 3rd in 100m backstroke, 4th in 50m butterfly and 2nd in 200m freestyle relay, she also made three new personal best times.

These outstanding results qualified Nicole for the 2024 School Sports Australia Championships held between 25 July and 31 July at the Golds Coast Sports and Leisure Centre. Over the week, Ms Taylor placed 6th in backstroke, 4th in 100m butterfly, 5th in 50 m backstroke, 6th in 200m medley relay and 3rd in 200m freestyle relay.

Nicole was rewarded for her hard work, consistent effort and excellent sportsmanship by being honoured with the position of NSW Captain. Nicole proudly carried the NSW flag during the closing ceremony at the School Sports Games, leading the 153 elite athletes from across the state.

Well done on your enormous contribution to swimming at MRHS – Griffith and your achievements on the national stage, Nicole!
