Bright Burn Visits MRHS Griffith

Burn Bright Griffith

On Wednesday 14/5 SRC members participated in a full day program facilitated by Burn Bright Australia.

Students participated in a range of different activities and games all focused on developing their skills as a leader, especially confidence, self-esteem, communication and resilience.

It was great to see them grow in confidence throughout the day and spend the day having lots of fun and collaborating with each other on some excellent ideas for SRC projects for the rest of the year. They also came up with a team slogan which was "Listen. Act. Impact" which was created based on the SRC goals of acting on student voice and making a positive impact on the school.

Some of the key takeaways from students throughout the day were:

"Anyone can be a leader, it's important to acknowledge and build on the leadership qualities within yourself" - Max Jamieson (Year 12)

"I loved how we all worked together throughout the day, it was great to see us collaborating and working as a team" - Raiza Macabales (Year 9)

" I feel like I have grown a lot in confidence from this experience" - Jiya Brahmabhatt (Year 10)

"I've learnt a lot of important leadership skills from playing the games" - Bella Kelsey (Year 8)

"I feel more confident in my role as an SRC leader." - Yasmin Webster (Year 7)

A big thank you to facilitators Mack and Jess from Burn Bright, it was an excellent and engaging day, and another valuable learning opportunity for our student leaders.
