Last week we had Deadly Thinking come to the school to talk to our Year 8s and 9s about staying strong and keeping connected to culture and country.
Auntie Margaret Saunders and Harry Pitt from the National Wellbeing Alliance discussed anxiety, stress, bullying, violence, anger, grief, loss, drugs and alcohol. The students were walked through coping strategies and learned about forming safety and action plans not only for themselves but for their peers as well.
Our Year 7s and 8s no doubt came away with a better understanding of caring for their own and their peers’ mental health. Thanks for bringing this fantastic program to our school, Auntie Margaret and Harry!
