Year 12 Explore Griffith Grape Industry

Year 12 Agriculture recently toured several grape-producing related businesses for their Stage 6 HSC Agriculture Product Study of grape growing.

As Griffith is located in the heart of Riverina winegrape growing area where 1 in 4 glasses of wine is produced, students were also exposed to the table and dried grape products that they can purchase in stores.

Students learned about the wine growing, making, and selling process, value-adding of grape products, off-farm contacting harvesting & pruning measures, and the current assistance provided by the wine grapes marketing board of Griffith.

Students are using all the gathered information to prepare for their in-class assessment task at the end of week 1 in term two.
